ABOUT THE CHEF:

Originally from Bloemfontein, Chef Francois Potgieter honed his cooking skills from a young age under the tutelage of his Mother, also an excellent cook. Later in life he moved to New York where he lived for 4 ½ years whilst undergoing formal training at the French Culinary Institute of Manhattan. Upon returning to South Africa, Francois qualified as a Cordon Blue Chef. His career as a Chef spans over 20 years and he progressed to the rank of Executive Chef. Now, as co-owner of Treat, Francois believes that food should be fresh, meat should be lean, dishes should be uncomplicated, and food should be cooked and eaten with passion.
